Thanks from a special scout

Because of the generosity of many, a gently used all terrain vehicle was purchased to assist with our scout’s mobility.  A heart felt thank you to all who helped!

Could you help a scout in need?

One of our most active scouts has Freidreich’s ataxia.  While most have never heard of this disease, our scout knows it very well.  He would tell you it’s just something that he lives with.  I will tell you it’s a progressive, degenerative, disease of the nervous system.  This disease especially affects the movements of the arms and legs, caused by degeneration of nerve tissue in the spinal cord.  In time, other complications will develop.

Our scout really enjoys scouting!  But his mobility is very limited and very fatiguing.   But despite this, he has hiked to the top of Springer Mountain.  With the assistance of his fellow scouts, and frequent stops, he showed his determination in completing his greatest accomplishment to date!

Would you consider helping our scout, the same as his fellow scouts did?  Would you consider donating a gas powered golf cart, or other utility vehicle, such as a Mule or Gator?  It doesn’t need to be fancy or pretty, just in good operation.

Your gift would be tax deductible, to the extent of the IRS tax rules, as we are part of a larger 501(c)3 organization.  But more importantly, you would be helping our scout to achieve other goals, that he might not otherwise.

Thanks for considering our request.
